CLEARLY NAME YOUR EXECUTOR & TRUSTEE

You need to clearly choose and name your primary Executor and Trustee. Often that person is your spouse. That person will take your place by signing all documents and making all decisions about your estate. You need to choose someone that you trust (don't choose a spouse from whom you are about to separate), someone who will likely be around when you die (don't choose someone much older than you), and if you select a friend, choose someone who will likely still be your friend in 20 or more years. Try to select someone who lives in Ontario, if at all possible. You can appoint more than one person. If you have Executors and Trustees (more than one) then you need to specify how many are need to act if one of them predeceases you or dies without finishing their job together.
