SHOULD YOUR ATTORNEY FOR PERSONAL CARE BE PAID FOR THEIR WORK?

Administering the health needs of a mentally incompetent person, who has for example, suffered a stroke or is exhibiting advanced dementia, is an extremely time-consuming and difficult job even if the person is in a good long term care facility/nursing home. That hard work should be compensated. Do you want to authorize your Attorney(s) to receive compensation or no compensation for that work?

Some people leave this portion of the Power of Attorney blank so that if the job is extremely difficult the Attorney can apply to the Court for direction. Perhaps you should discuss the question of compensation with your prospective Attorney for Personal Care.
